India’s National Dairy Development Board assesses possible practice change

The representatives met at a cultural heritage location in the Netherlands.


On June 26, Mr Shri T. Nanda Kumar, chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) of India and Theun Vellinga of Wageningen UR Livestock Research and project leader of the LMMC met to discuss the opportunities for manure management in India. Both representatives acknowledged the importance of improved manure management to improve soil quality and fertility and to produce biogas for domestic use, with the reduction of Short-Lived Climate Pollutants is as an important co-benefit. The cooperative structure of the NDDB provides good opportunities to facilitate the process of improving manure management. Further possibilities to cooperate will be explored.
