21 New Members Join the Global Agenda during and After the 2016 Panama MSP Meeting

We are pleased to announce 21 more members have recently signed the consensus document to officially join the Global Agenda. There are now 81 official members, which represents a 50% increase in the membership since December 2015. We welcome their contributions to sustainable development of the livestock sector and celebrate this extraordinary growth.

The following new members joined during the MSP meeting in Panama:
The African Development Bank; Directorate of Livestock Production, Busia County, Kenya; Fundación Produce Michoacán, Mexico; Government of Argentina-Universidad de la Patagonia, INTA-UNPA-CONICET; Government of Costa Rica, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock; Government of Cuba, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock; Government of El Salvador, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources; Government of Ethiopia, Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries; Government of Kenya, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries; Government of Paraguay, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock; Government of Uganda, Uganda Bureau of Statistics; Kenya Dairy Board; Veterinaries Without Borders-Switzerland; and World Wildlife Fund.

After the Panama MSP meeting have joined Fundación CoMunidad, Panama; Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Pacto Coqueta: Cero Deforestación y Reconciliación Ganadera, Colombia; Redes Chaco, WAMIP, Argentina; WAMIP North Africa; and the World Organization for Animal Health, OIE.

In this regard, Ms. Monique Eloit, Director General OIE congratulated and wished well to our Chair Fritz Schneider in his new position and reaffirmed that OIE, according to its mandate, is committed to play an active role as member of the Global Agenda in the field of animal health and welfare.

Ms. Eloit signed the Consensus Document of the Global Agenda during a meeting with FAO DDG Ms. Maria Helena Semedo on 18 October, 2016 at FAO Headquarters.
