Positive Synergies among GASL Partners Result in Valuable Joint Research on a Silvopastoral System in Brazil

A new research project of agri benchmark, the Thünen Institute of Farm Economics (Germany), Universidade Federal de São João del-Rei (Brazil), Centro para la Investigación en Sistemas Sostenibles de Producción Agropecuaria (Colombia) and Centro Brasileiro de Pecuaria Sustentavel (Brazil) measured the productive, economic and environmental aspects of a Silvopastoral System (SPS) used for beef production in the north of Brazil. The SPS was developed based on the natural regeneration of native trees, legumes bushes or associated with eucalyptus trees. The study demonstrates the interaction of different Action Networks and Clusters of the Global Agenda such as Restoring Value to Grasslands, Global Network on Silvopastoral Systems, Closing the Efficiency Gap, the Academia & Research Cluster and the Social Movement Cluster. More information about the research project can be found in this VIDEO (in Portuguese). (10 January 2019)
