Dairy Industry actively considering joint action through FAO, GASL, GDP and IFCN in favor of Social Development

 

On 21 October, top Executives and experts from Arla Foods, Dairy Farmers of America, Dairy Sustainability Framework, Fonterra, Global Dairy Platform, Royal Friesland Campina and Tetra Laval FB met with representatives of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock, FAO/AGA and IFCN

Dairy Network to explore joint work possibilities in favor of measuring the impact of dairy on social development. A concept note and a t short project proposal draft will be prepared by December 2016 to specify objectives, working areas, expected outputs, activities, timeline and budget. This short proposal draft will be revised by the stakeholders in the Dairy Sector, IFCN, FAO and the Global Agenda to then present it to the Guiding Group of the Global Agenda in its next meeting in February/March 2017. The Global Agenda will explore the possibility to create an action network dedicated to Poverty Alleviation through Dairy Development where this initiative could be hosted, with support of other platforms such as Dairy Asia and IFCN Dairy Network.
